‘You saved my daughter’s life!’ – the healing power of mushrooms

A ‘cloud’ of Turkey Tail mushrooms (Trametes Versicolor) on logs at Half Hill Farm

A few months ago, I got a call from a customer who was looking for what I thought was an adjunct therapy for his daughter in treatment for brain cancer. His own research made him hopeful that our Turkey Tail extract could help. It wasn’t until a couple months later that I discovered on a second call the full extent of what was going on.

“I want you to know you saved my daughter’s life,” the customer told me. It’s something I hear often from customers, from ecstatic calls of people now in remission to those experiencing little to no side effects to chemo or radiation (most common) and positive changes in blood tests, but when he told me his daughter had been in hospice, I was shocked.

It is certainly not a common experience for patients to go from hospice back to treatment options, but it’s stories like this that give what we do meaning and purpose. It’s stories like this that are why we have grown into an FDA-registered manufacturing space and why we continue to expand our product offerings to include nature’s very best organically grown and wildcrafted mushroom extracts.

We are humbled every day with your phone calls and emails. While the body of research on mushrooms is growing, we know we cannot market our extracts or products as a treatment, cure or prevention of any disease, but that doesn’t stop our customers from sharing their stories. It has presented a unique challenge over the past two years as to how we present those stories to you in a responsible way.

Mushroom Dual Extracts available in 100 ml (3.38 oz) or 200 ml (6.76 oz) bottles from Half Hill Farm:

If you are one of the hundreds of customers across the country who take our extracts, we would love to hear why you take them and what you are experiencing. Your experience could help someone follow you on a path toward better health and well-being. You can leave your comment here, or leave a review on the product pages of our online store.

  1. While I cannot say that the Turkey Tail extract was the reason I experienced absolutely no ill effects from radiation treatments, following BC surgery, I can say that my radiation oncologist and her technicians said they had not seen anyone come through radiation as well as I did. They were absolutely amazed. No burning, and no fatigue, whatsoever (33 treatments). I had some redness, but that was it, and it was gone in about 2 days. I also take freshly ground flaxseed, every day, as well, thus the reason I can’t say for certain that it was the Turkey Tail. I can say, for certain, that I will continue to take it.

  3. I have prostrate and bone cancer. I had surgery in December to remove the prostrate which was stage four….. Anyway during my recovery and continuing every day I take two teaspoons of the Turkey Tail Extract along with three other natural supplements….. As of July 2016 my prognosis is good. The cancer is significantly diminished……. I truly believe the extract has contributed to my good results thus far. I will continue to take it daily and work towards remission…….

    • Dear Michael,
I read with interest your posting on July 2016. My prostate cancer was diagnosed in 2004 and in 2005 I underwent radiation seed implants and external radiation at the Radio Therapy Clinics of Georgia. Obviously my PC had metastasized before the radiation because my PSA went back up. In 2012 I was diagnosed with metastatic bone cancer from the prostate cancer. I underwent two months of targeted radiation therapy which did little for the PSA levels. I am now in 2018 experiencing some bone pain in my lower back and a PET image test confirms that I have multiple PC lesions on my vertebrae. I have refused hormone suppression therapy and chemotherapy which is all that conventional medicine can offer me at this point. My refusal is based on Medical Risk isssues and quality of life issues. Until recently I have been asymptomatic. I have for 14 years used a combination of conventional therapy and natural supplements that are based on University studies showing anti-cancer and anti-prostate cancer activity. Most recently I am looking to take some turkey tail mushroom extract from Half Hill Farm.
I would like to ask you some questions:
      1. Did you have metastatic bone cancer from the prostate cancer cells or did you have prostate cancer and bone cancer? Did you have bone pain and which bones were effected?
      2. What was your PSA and what kind of reductions have you seen with the mushroom extract and over what time period.?
      3. What are the three other natural supplements that you take?
      4. You say the cancer is significantly dimished. What testing shows the cancer reduction?
I am in the fight for my life and any information that you could provide would be helpful.
      Thanks for a reply.
