Our every day work is a mission to bring hope and healing into the world. We know the science behind what we do, but it’s the “why” part that gets to the deeper purpose and meaning of our work. When we ask what good we can do with our time and talents, we are answered by your heartfelt letters. 

Our almost 12 year old golden girl, Serenity, was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma of the spleen on Nov. 20, 2018. I was told that we only had a few days left, that is was aggressive, and there was nothing we could do. However, through some research and desperation I came across a study from Penn State in which they had used Turkey Tail mushroom extract on dogs with the same cancer as Serenity’s. After further searching I came across your farm and Turkey Tail product. Fast forward to today and we just received our 2nd order of Turkey Tail extract. We’ve been putting it in Serenity’s food twice a day. She is maintaining, has a great appetite, wants to play and run, and goes on walks several times a day. So, we are feeling thankful that we found your product as well as extremely blessed to still have our Serenity with us and living what we would call a good quality of life. Stories of healing: how CBD hemp oil has changed lives in Tennessee

In the time since industrial hemp was legalized in Tennessee, over 1,000 Tennesseans have died from opioid use. The problem is so bad all over the country that it has been declared a national emergency by the federal government.

Some politicians funded by pharmaceutical contributions – like Tennessee’s Rep. Marsha Blackburn – have made the problem worse by removing the DEA’s authority to stop the flow of opioids into our communities. Now that the public knows which politicians are getting paid to keep the pills flowing, these same politicians are misusing state agencies as cover to focus the public’s attention instead on the purported dangers of hemp.

While some politicians use our tax dollars on behalf of pharmaceutical companies to convince us God’s creation is the problem, the fact remains that there have been zero deaths from the use of CBD extracts from industrial hemp in Tennessee. You can thank God for that, but there is something else you can do to protect our access to this natural gift.

Our farm’s first honey bee hive

Thursday was a life-long dream come true as we brought our first honey bee hive onto the farm. That’s Vince carefully placing them with Scot Smotherman, a new partner with our farm. Scot’s great-uncle is bee keeper Dr. Ed Perryman of Shelbyville who taught him and countless people across the state how to keep and care for these amazing insects. We are so grateful for Scot sharing his knowledge and getting us this path.

This first colony is a hive of Carniolan bees. With all the rain and cold snaps, we wondered if they’d make it. A day or two later the sun came out, and they got oriented and went to work!

We know it’s a lot of work and commitment, but our goal is to collect as an inspected honey house to make our farm’s first organic hemp-infused CBD honey and share some extra healing love from Woodbury!
